a new branch of performing arts for me in the last year has been the development of my 'notorious troupe', a collection of performers dedicated to putting on macabre fun for adults. our first show was feb 16th 2007 @ the cabell street theatre, an underground club in the london area where we put on a show called 'audio visual assualt' (ava) featuring three one act plays depicting violent death, screened dario argento's classic 'susperia' and my former punk band destroy all rational thought.
our second project, entitled 'london after dark', a tribute to the classic canadian tv show 'the hilarious house of frightenstein' set up as a talk show featuring the count, igor and all their pals happened on april 26th 2007 at the pandemic nightclub and featured zoomboy (audio/visual artist) and the last performance of my band d.a.r.t.
after a six month hiatus when i was deciding between forming another band or not, we performed our day of the dead tribute, 'los dias de los muertos' on nov 2nd 2007 @ the pandemic nightclub. this show featured live music by the sinister warlocks and was our first show to add elements of burlesque strip tease with jaded angel (now a permanent troupe member) and killer kandy (of the sinister society).
for our one year anniversary we did a tribute to the classic ec comics 'tales from the crypt' and 'the vault of horror' with a show called 'tales from the creep : murder ballads'. this show took place on feb 15th 2008 @ the pandemic nightclub and combined magic, burlesque, vaudville and carnival showmanship.
coming up we have numerous shows planned for the future including a grindhouse tribute, a spy show spoof, a dark carnival and a stage adaption of george a romero's 'night of the living dead'.
but first our sequel to last years show 'london after dark' will happen (may 23rd and 24th) at the pandemic nightclub. this one is called 'london after dark : fait accompli' and will complete the story of the count and igor and their vattle to end the witch's dreadful curse.
